Rich Cando Illustrations appear in new DK book “Take Me Back”

New Rich Cando illustrations will be published in a new history book for kids called Take Me Back on October 20th. This 304 page hardcover volume is published by Dorling Kindersley, in the eclectic art style of two of their previous best-sellers Pick Me Up and Do Not Open. Rich’s featured illustrations include some pages in his “Dude” style made famous in History Dudes Ancient Egyptians and History Dudes Vikings. Additionally, Take Me Back includes Rich Cando illustrations designed in other fun styles. The book tackles world history from Early Man to present day in an entertaining but educational way. Each page features full color artwork by a different artist. The result is a book that contains a unique look back at history on every page! Suitable for kids ages 10 - 17 years old.

It’s Official: History Dudes wins 2008 TCA for the Family Award

I mentioned this on an earlier post, but History Dudes: Ancient Egyptians has OFFICIALLY won the 2008 Teachers Choice Award for the Family in the category of Best Children’s Book. I’d like to thank Learning Magazine and all of the teachers who voted for the book. Check out this link to read more.

History Dudes: Ancient Egyptians has won the 2008 Teacher’s Choice Awards for the Family. This award is presented by Learning Magazine and will be featured in their January issue.

This award recognizes the best tools for at home learning and is voted on by teachers. I am very excited and honored to receive this prestigious award and earn such recognition from educators, and an acclaimed publication like Learning Magazine.

Rich will be speaking and signing copies of History Dudes on October 4th at the Barnes & Noble in Grossmont Center in La Mesa, California. The Fall Educator Appreciation Reception will feature Rich as well as two local authors. B&N will provide freebies, gift basket raffles and refreshments.
